Eva Longoria's Husband File Charges Againt Celebrity Gossip

The husband of Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria pursues a celebrity gossip site for at least $ 40m (£ 20m) over claims that he had an affair.

Basketteur Tony Parker continues X17online.com for alleging that he had an affair with the model Alexandra Paressant.

The site has posted a series of "false" reports, according to legal documents filed in Superior Court in Los Angeles.

X17online.com ran an interview with Ms. Paressant in which she claimed that she and Mr. Parker was a matter of two months.

"Serious doubts"

The story said Ms Paressant told the website she attended M. Parker marriage with a group of friends whose french Thierry Henry football player.

The court said: "X17 have known that the story was false, or, at least, we had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of the source of supposed".

He continued: "No one from X17 attempted to contact Mr. Henry, who ... would have said unequivocally that the woman was not married."

After hours of a call to the X17 Beverly Hills office was not immediately returned.

Belgian born Mr. Parker, 25, married Ms. Longoria, 32, in Paris in July.

The high-profile couple defended their marriage in the People magazine last week.

"I love my wife. It is the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier," said Dr. Parker.

"Tony has been nothing less than the perfect husband," Ms. Longoria said.
